Luding Khen Rinpoche | Australia Tour | January 2019

On 5 January 2019, His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche (Rinpoche) arrived in Sydney, Australia. Rinpoche was greeted at the airport by Dungyud Tulku Rinpoche, Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe, lamas of Kyegu Buddhist Institute and many lay-disciples of Rinpoche.

Rinpoche was then escorted to Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe's centre named Kamalashila Tibetan Buddhist Centre (Kamalashila), located in Tilba Tilba, Southern New South Wales. Rinpoche would reside at Kamalashila for the majority of his time in Australia.

Upon arrival at Kamalashila, Rinpoche was greeted in traditional Tibetan custom by the centre members. As soon as Rinpoche arrived a light rain sprinkled down accompanied by lightning and rolling thunder.

During his stay at Kamalashila, Rinpoche bestowed the Chakrasamvara empowerment, the Vajrayogini blessing along with a comprehensive teaching on the profound Vajrayogini sadhana practise and other empowerments. During the Vajrayogini blessing, the rain and lightning intensified and a lightning bolt struck the Kamalashila Gompa! All of the lights went out but the blessing continued much to all the participants' delight.

Upon completion of the Vajrayogini teachings, and a day's rest, Rinpoche bestowed the Hevajra Cause empowerment. Shortly after Rinpoche had completed the Vajramaster component of the Hevajra empowerment, dark clouds started to build in the valley. Upon commencement of the empowerment, light rain started to fall and rolling thunder resounded throughout the valley.

Toward the end of his stay at Kamalashila, Rinpoche bestowed the Avolakiteshvara and Green Tara empowerments.

The empowerments were translated into English by Venerable Ngawang Tenzin, a resident teacher at the International Buddhist Academy as well as Khenpo Ngawang Dhamchoe.

Rinpoche departed Kamalashila on 25 January and travelled to Sakya Tharpa Ling's new Buddhist Centre in Sydney to consecrate the centre at the request of Dunjyud Tulku Rinpoche.

On 29 January 2019, Rinpoche departed Sydney to return to Ngor Monastery, Manduwala, India to prepare for a pilgrimage to Bodhgaya with His Eminence Luding Khen Chen Rinpoche, Her Eminence Jetsun Chimey Luding and esteemed monks.
