His Eminence Luding Khen Rinpoche is the current abbot of Ngor Monastery and the Sakya Institute of Vajrayana and a member of the Royal Khon Family.

Luding Khenpo is the current abbot of both Ngor Ewam Chodan Monastery (Ngor Monastery) and the Sakya Institute of Vajrayana (Sakya Institute).

Luding Khenpo is a member of the royal Khon Family of the Sakya tradition and is the second son of Her Eminence Jetsun Kushok Chimey Luding, the sister of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin.

Luding Khenpo was selected and trained as the successor for the future Abbot of the Ngor sub-sect of the Sakya Tradition and commenced his monastic training with His Eminence Luding Khenchen Rinpoche (Khenchen Rinpoche) at 10 years of age.

Luding Khenpo received intensive training in accordance with the Ngor tradition, which is a common requirement for a Tibetan Buddhist Lineage Holder. In addition to the daily tutelage under the direction of Khenchen Rinpoche, Luding Khenpo also received numerous teachings and empowerments from His Holiness the Sakya Trizin, the Late Venerable Khen Chen Appey Rinpoche and many other esteemed Vajra Masters.

Luding Khenpo is highly respected amongst the contemporary lineage holders of all schools of Tibetan Buddhism and is renowned for his sincere kindness and compassion and deep wisdom.

Luding Khenpo is well versed in all the common and uncommon collections of teachings of the Sakya Tradition. In the category of Tantra teachings, Rinpoche has studied and mastered the precious Lam Dre and all categories of the collections of Tantras and Sadhanas, which include many rare secret and sacred teachings.

Luding Khenpo diligently completed all the many important retreats required by an authentic Vajrayana Master. He is an accomplished philosophical scholar and a graduate of the Sakya College of Higher Buddhist Philosophy in Dehra Dun, Northern India. Here Luding Khenpo studied under the guidance of Khenchen Appey Rinpoche and the Late Venerable Khenpo Mingmar Tsering.

After graduating from Sakya College in March 2000, Luding Khenpo was enthroned as the 76th Abbot of Ngor Monastery. As the main Ngor lineage holder, he is requested by Buddhist centres to bestow Vajrayana teachings and initiations around the world.
