Expansion of The Sakya Institute of Vajrayana
HE Luding Khen Rinpoche is currently constructing additional dormitories at The Sakya Institute of Vajrayana (SIV) to give more monks the opportunity to study the precious Vajrayana teachings and practices.
SIV was constructed in 2004 as a precious gift for the learning of higher Vajrayana Buddhism. HE Luding Khenchen Rinpoche was the main patron and adviser to HE Luding Khen Rinpoche during SIV's construction.
SIV's curriculum was set out by The Late Most Venerable Khenchen Appey Rinpoche and SIV was inaugurated by HH the 41st Sakya Trizin in 2008. HE Luding Khenchen Rinpoche has greatly benefited the SIV monks by bestowing many empowerments at SIV, giving extensive teachings as well as providing detailed guidance and instructions in relation to the sutras, tantras and rituals.
SIV has become renowned amoungst Tibetan Buddhist monastic scholars for its unique and advanced Vajrayana education. Since its inauguration, SIV has educated a vast number of monks in advanced Vajrayana teachings and practices. Upon graduation from SIV, monks go on to join other graduates as adept Vajrayana practitioners and use their advanced knowledge and skills for the benefit of all sentient beings in roles as abbots, translators and senior monastic leaders in monasteries and Buddhist institutions across the globe.
