On 4 August 2020, the 15th day of the 6th month of the Tibetan Lunar Calender, monks at Ngor Monastery performed the Tsulshig Sheypa ritual.

Tsulshig Sheypa is performed to welcome the summer retreat and also appoint and determine the number of monks for the retreat. On this day an elaborate Sixteen Arhat ritual was also performed.

This year, due to the unprecedented situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and Ngor Monastery's adherence to all its rules, only nine senior monks were chosen for the retreat.

The summer retreat commenced on 4 August 2020 and is being led by His Eminence Luding Khenpo. The retreat will continue until 18 September 2020.
