The Birthday of our Precious Guru, HE Luding Khen Chen Rinpoche
On 19 October 2021, the year of the Iron Ox, our Precious Guru His Eminence Sharchen Luding Khen Chen Dorje Chang (HE Khen Chen Rinpoche) will turn 91 years of age. In 1954, at the age of 24, HE Khen Chen Rinpoche was enthroned as the 75th abbot of Ngor Ewan Chodan Monastery. Since his enthronement, HE Khen Chen Rinpoche has contributed greatly to the Buddhadharma by building numerous monasteries, re-establishing summer retreats and bestowing extensive Dharma teachings and transmissions. Rinpoche's activities extend to almost all Sakya Monasteries in India, Nepal and other Sakya centres around the world.
To ensure HE Khen Chen Rinpoche continues to live a long and healthy life, monks of Ngor Monastery and the Sakya Institute of Vajrayana (SIV) conducted the seven-day Unishavijaya long life puja. The puja was presided over by Ponlop Tulku Ngawang Lodoe Gyasto and was attended by Khondhung Akasha Vajra Rinpoche, Jetsunma Kunga Thrinley Palter Rinpoche, HE Luding Khenpo Rinpoche, HE Luding Shabdrung Rinpoche, HE Thartse Khenpo Rinpoche, together with Ngor Monastery’s Khenpo and monks, as well as SIV Khenpos and monks.
